At Roots, we are a FAMILY. After all, that’s the inspiration behind the brand! Here you’ll find a mix of family recipes that will take you back to your southern ROOTS.

I’m Jenny, the founder of the brand and the one who is almost always covered in flour! Family is the biggest part of my life and thus, the inspiration for the name. I’m a Texas gal and grew up singing Garth Brooks and George Strait like it was my job. When I hear the song “Friends in Low Places,” I’m instantly back in my childhood kitchen, baking a fresh loaf of banana nut bread with my mom while my dad serenades us over his invisible microphone. Yes, those were the good ole’ days.

I have endured a lot of heartache over the years, but the one constant has always been FAMILY. So when I met my family-loving husband, Robert, I knew he was the one! Together, we had it all (looking back I realize that more than ever; hindsight truly is 20/20)! You see, we lost my dad in 2009, my mother-in-law in 2016, and my mom in 2017 (right after our sweet baby, Beckham, was born).

Roots has become a way for us to honor the people in our lives who have made us who we are.

So when you hear the verse, “Blame it all on my ROOTS,” let yourself think of my long-haired, Skynrd lovin’ dad who made the best darn sticky buns on this side of the South.. think of my exuberant, full-of-life mom who unknowingly sparked a love in my heart for baking and party planning.. think of my sweetest, glue-to-the-family mother in law who gifted her love so generously to everyone in her life.. and just think of how much sweeter life is with family.
